This is a St. Helens Ash Ware Cougar, WA. covered jar and trinket dish set. It is signed on the bases and inside the lid of the jar (see pictures). In excellent condition with no chips cracks or crazing. The covered jar measures 2 1/2 inches tall by 6 inches wide. The trinket dish is 5 in. across its widest point and sits 1.5 in. tall. Both pieces are made using ash that fell on Cougar during the June 12, 1980 eruption of Mt. St. Helens.
