Meenakari originated in Persia, and later brought to India by the Mongol invaders and is the art of decorating metal with enamelling.
This pierced, brass pedestal bowl is a beautiful example of Meenakari from India. 10 in. across and 3.5 in. tall. Decorated with flowers in reds, yellows and oranges. The enamelling is in excellent condition with no nicks or chps noted.
